EPOXY FLOORING

The key to successful adhesion and long-term durability of any epoxy flooring system is surface preparation. Shot blasting and diamond grinding are the most common methods of floor preparation, and Algoma’s skilled applicators are trained in the safe and effective use of these technologies.

EPOXY FLOORING BENEFITS

  • Durable to withstand heavy traffic

  • Long-lasting for many years with proper care

  • Easy to clean and maintain

  • Slip-resistant making it safe for high-traffic areas

  • Customizable to match any décor

CONCRETE SEALERS

Thin or penetrating concrete sealers are used to damp-proof and protect concrete for several years. A variety of penetrating sealers can be used for surface hardening of freshly poured concrete surfaces, damp-proofing concrete, or conditioning concrete surfaces for painting.

As well, concrete decks, floors and parking structures can be waterproof sealed using a variety of liquid-applied products to stop water leakage and/or salt infiltration, each varying depending on the specific application. These concrete waterproofing systems are often elastomeric with crack-bridging capabilities. Some waterproof membranes are more abrasion or chemical-resistant than others.

CONCRETE SEALING BENEFITS

  • Protects against damage from moisture intrusion and chloride ion penetration

  • Allows interior moisture to escape without damaging sealer

  • Most sealers do not alter natural surface appearance

  • Can provide a non-skid, chemical and abrasion resistant surface

  • Crack bridging capabilities

  • Quick application

  • Extends the life of the structure

FEATURED PROJECT

ST.JOSEPH’S HEALTHCARE HAMILTON WEST FAN ROOM PROJECT

The St. Joseph’s West Fan Room project involved surface preparation and grinding of the damaged concrete floor. This was followed by the application of waterproof sealer on the concrete floor: prime coat application, base coat with the addition of aggregate to achieve a non-slip surface and final topcoat application.
